The John Wayne 1871 .45 COLT Replica Franklin Mint Commemorative Colt Replica I am selling the very last of my Franklin Mint Revolver Collection. This is a NON-FIRING Replica Pistol with a Special Franklin Mint Display Frame. It is fully engraved, nickel and gold plated, non-firing replica revolver made just like the Colt Single Action Army, with the serial number 151284 on the bottom of frame, that was made by COLT for John Wayne. Marked .45 on left side of trigger guard and correct Colt patent dates on left side of frame and Colt’s PT. F.A. Mfg. Co. Hartford, CT. U.S.A.” on the top of the barrel. The left side of the barrel is engraved with a Stage Coach pulled by a team of horses. John Wayne's signature is engraved on the grip strap. The grips have a slight stained appearance and this is to replicate Duke's real grips that he soaked in tea to create the stained look. The revolver functions in every other way but DOES NOT FIRE. It CANNOT load bullets or fire them but the hammer, trigger and chamber all work. It comes with a beautiful wooden Display Case embellished with mounting pins that are replica .45 bullet cases. This is a gorgeous piece that any military collector, gun collector, or John Wayne fan would cherish. This reproduction truly captures the look and spirit of the original. A very high-quality replica that you will be proud to display. It is shown with an Orange Plug in the barrel which EBAY requests that we add to indicate that this is NOT a REAL FIREARM. The Case measures 15-1/2" by 11" by 1-3/4" deep. It has spent the last several years in a smoke free home.
