eBay John Wayne Franklin Mint Commemorative 1871 Colt .45 Revolver & Display Board Condition: Manufactured by the Franklin Mint as a commemorative to John Wayne, "The Duke." This is an exact replica of a special revolver that was made by Colt for John Wayne. It is exact in every detail. Company address and patent dates are located in the appropriate places. The body is nickel plated and extensively engraved with gold plating. It bears the same serial number of the real revolver: 151284. John Wayne's signature is engraved on the grip strap. The grips have a slightly stained appearance, and this is to replicate Duke's real grips that he soaked in tea to create the stained look. The chamber can be removed as well. Metal components have fine laser scroll engraving with a stagecoach scene on the left side of the barrel. The plastic grips show a Federal Eagle etched on the left side. Includes original display board from the Franklin Mint. FFL STATUS: Non Firearm. S/N: 151284 CONDITION: The revolver metal is in excellent shape, retaining most of its finish. Its not designed to load bullets or fire them, but the hammer, trigger, and chamber all work. You can remove the chamber, as shown in pictures. The display board has some scratches and handling marks. It is in an okay position, though the new owner may wish to take additional steps to get it in like-new condition. Really, nothing on the display board is noticeable unless you're looking closely. I will be sure to photograph everything for your review.
